At New Pond Farm, a small environmental education farm, we operate a small CSA. Community
Supported Agriculture has become a popular way for people to buy local,
seasonal and organically grown food directly from a farmer. We offer a small
number of "shares" to the public and the share consists of a box of
diverse vegetables delivered weekly. As
the CSA manager, I manage the planning, planting, harvesting, distribution and
record keeping for the CSA. I supervise interns and a
small cadre volunteers and write a weekly and quarterly newsletter. Additionally, New Pond has a CSA style ‘Bouquet Program.’ We
grow a wide variety of flowers, compose arrangements and provide bouquets for a half season.
